Full Service Household & Estate Sales

Complementary Personal Consultation - A representative of Grandma's Helpers, LLC will meet with you at the sale site.  We will discuss with you what you would like your end result to be and how extensive you would like our services to be.  A brief tour of the home is conducted for a preliminary evaluation of the contents.  Our contract will be reviewed, the details are discussed and any questions will be answered. 

Sale Preparation - Grandma's Helpers, LLC will sort all items according to category.  Our staff is trained to be thorough and are each knowledgeable in specific areas.  Once the sorting process is complete, set-up and pricing begins.  We provide all of the necessary tables, locked display cases for small and/or valuable items, and other materials required to ensure all items are displayed to their best advantage.  Research is conducted using our extensive library of reference materials, public library references, subject matter experts and internet sources, to ensure your items are priced appropriately according to Fair Market Value for your area. 

Sale Advertising - Print advertising is placed in the Democrat & Chronicle and the Messenger Post newspapers.  Sales conducted outside of Monroe County receive print advertising in their local newspaper.  All print advertising will include our company name and our website address.  Internet Advertising is placed on our website at least one week prior to your sale and includes digital pictures, a list of the items of interest and a map of the sale location.  On sale days sandwich board signs are placed at strategic intersections to direct traffic to the sale.  Flyers are prepared and distributed at sales prior to yours.

The Sale - The sale duration will be one to three days depending on the volume of items to be liquidated.  We use the standard #'s admittance system on the first day of the sale.  We utilize a single point of entry and exit for crowd control and as a security checkpoint.  Sales and security staff are present at all times to ensure smooth customer flow and prevent theft.  All items sold are recorded on a triplicate sales slip and rung through our cash register for accurate accounting.   You will be provided with a final accounting packet that includes all of the original sales slips.

After The Sale - This additional service is offered to accommodate the need for clean-up after the sale.  All refuse will be bagged and removed from the premises for Clients' refuse collection services.  The Charitable Agency designated will be contacted and a date scheduled for pick up.  The remaining items will be collected and prepared for donation.  A list of these items will be compiled and included in your final accounting packet along with the donation receipt.  The home will be left broom cleaned, defined as wipe down of counter surfaces, sweeping, mopping and/or vacuuming of floors as necessary.

Refuse Removal - This additional service is offered to accommodate removal of excess refuse, including non-working appliances, carpets, unsold items and scraps.  Roll-off containers are used and the labor to load refuse is provided.

Personal Property Appraisals

Personal Property Appraisal - Grandma's Helpers, LLC does appraisals for estate and insurance purposes.  These appraisals are full narrative reports written in compliance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), published by the Appraisal Foundation.
